Base polymers: ethylene production increased by 1.1% in June

According to the published data of the Federal state statistics service (Rosstat), the index of industrial production in June 2018. compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, it was 102.2% in the first half of 2018. – 103.0%. Index of production of chemicals and chemical products in June 2018. compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, it was 104.4% in the first half of 2018. – 102.8%.

Ethylene production in June amounted to 255 thousand tons, an increase compared to June last year was 1.1%. the increase compared to may 2018 was 6.4%. In just six months, 739 thousand tons of ethylene were produced (-0.1% in comparison with January-June 2017).

In the reporting period, 117 thousand tons of benzene were produced, which is 10% more than in June last year and 3.8% more than in may this year. The increase for January-June 2018 was 4.3%.

For reference: the Index of industrial production is calculated by types of activity “Mining”, “Manufacturing”, “Production and distribution of electricity, gas and water” on the basis of data on the dynamics of production of the most important products (in kind or in value terms). As weights are used the structure of gross value added by economic activity 2008 base year (taking into account the amendment on informal activity).
