The European Parliament may slow down the development of 3D printing industry

The European Parliament has issued a resolution on 3D printing, which, according to the European Association of industrial equipment manufacturers (CECIMO), is able to slow progress in 3D printing and complicate legislation, writes 3dpulse.ru.

The resolution “three-Dimensional printing: intellectual property rights and civil liability” highlights the advantages of 3D printing for the economy and society, the status of additive manufacturing in different industries and the need to adopt new rules to accelerate the certification of 3D printed parts. The authors of the resolution also suggest possible changes in the system of European intellectual property laws and talk about the feasibility of national tools of copyright collection for 3D printing.
