A new polymer-bitumen coating for roads is being developed in Irkutsk

Scientists of the Irkutsk national research technical University are developing new compositions of polymer-bitumen binder (PBV) for the construction, reconstruction and repair of roads in the Angara region, Regnum informs with reference to the message of the University.

The report notes that the existing regulatory, technical and legal framework for obtaining PBV for road construction is not suitable for the Baikal region due to special climatic conditions.

“During the construction of roads in the Irkutsk region, it is necessary to take into account the sharply continental climate. Therefore, the normative documents require some clarification in relation to the conditions of our region”, — said the head of the Department of roads of the Irkutsk national research technical University Vadim Balabanov.

The work plan for the Directorate of roads of the Irkutsk region, until September 2019 employees of RHINITIS will deal with the cleaning compositions of the WSPs and to develop a formulation of polymer-asphalt mixtures. Currently, the work is carried out in the laboratory of the Department.
