Base polymers: rubber production increased by 5% in nine months%

According to the published data of the “Federal state statistics service” (Rosstat), the index of production of chemicals and chemical products in September 2018. compared with the corresponding period of the previous year amounted to 97.3% in January-September 2018g. – 102.7%.

Plastics in primary forms in September was released 662 thousand tons (+9.5% compared to September 2017), and 4.9% less than in August 2018. The increase for January-September this year was 6.2%.

Polyethylene (PE) in the reporting month was released 167 thousand tons, which is 9.7% more than last September. The decrease in comparison with August of current year has made 6,6 %. In General, from January to September, PE production increased by 6.8% compared to last year, amounting to 1681 thousand tons.

Polypropylene (PP) in September was produced 123 thousand tons (+31.8% compared to September last year). The decrease in production compared to August was 5.3%. In total, 1131 thousand tons were produced in the first nine months of this year, an increase of 4.1% (compared to the same period last year).

Polymers of styrene (PS) in the reporting period was released in the amount of 46.4 thousand tons, compared to the same period last year, production increased by 3.8%. Compared to August 2018, production decreased by 5.6%. In just nine months of this year, the production of PS increased by 3.4% (compared to the same period last year) and amounted to 408.5 thousand tons.

Production of vinyl chloride (PVC) polymers increased by 3.2% in September, reaching 82.6 thousand tons. In comparison with August, the indicator increased by 7.2%. In the first nine months of this year, 742.1 thousand tons were produced, an increase compared to January-September last year was 7.1%.

Production of polycarbonate (PC), simple and complex polyesters, alkyd and epoxy resins in the reporting month amounted to 50.4 thousand tons, a decrease of 0.5% compared to September last year. Compared to August 2017, production decreased by 18%. The increase in January-September 2018 to January-September 2017 amounted to 4.7 %, in just nine months was released 694.7 thousand tons.

Polyamide (PA) in September was produced 13.2 thousand tons (-1.7% compared to September 2017). Compared to August, production increased by 13.5%. In total, 126.7 thousand tons of PA were produced in nine months, an increase in January-September 2018 compared to the same period last year was 5.5%.

Production of synthetic rubbers decreased by 5.8% in September, 126 thousand tons of products were produced in the reporting month. The decrease compared to August this year was 4.1%. In January-September rubber production increased by 5% compared to the same period in 2017. In just nine months produced 1231 thousand tons.
